Acne and Using the Right
Hygiene Products
Affecting both teenagers and adults, acne is one of the most
common skin problems today, but thankfully, there are numerous
products for treating acne, some of which can be used as a part
of your regular daily hygiene routine, like ordinary bar soap.
Although many brands of soap are scented and will aggravate
acne, countless others are available that not only help treat
the acne and be easy on the skin, but will be easy on the
pocketbook as well.
Soap is available in two basic forms, either liquid or
solid. Those intended for cleaning the face are specially
formulated to be gentle to the delicate skin, but effective
enough to protect the skin from acne and promote healing.
Acne cleaning products are designed to remove excessive
amounts of oils, sweat, and dirt from the skin's surface. This
is not only to keep the pores open and clean, but also to allow
the skin to better absorb topical treatments of acne
medication. Topical medicine is used for treating the surface
of the skin to help prevent future acne outbreaks and reduce
current irritation. Because these products will dry out the
skin if used too often, it's recommended to clean acne laden
skin no more than once or twice per day.
To accommodate the varying types of skin, there are multiple
products formulated accordingly. Those with chronically oily
skin should choose a soap that rinses clean to avoid the pores
becoming clogged. There are both liquid and bar soaps intended
for use by those with oily skin.
For dry skin types, the gentlest of cleansers and
hard-milled products are best. Synthetic cleansers may also be
a viable option for dry skin, although these products tend to
be harsh and will not need to be used regularly.
The majority of people with normal skin wash daily with
regular bar soap. If you'll be using synthetic cleansers and
detergents, know that they do interact with hard water better
than soft.
People with sensitive tend to be prone to adverse reactions
from products with fragrance added, or those with harsh
scrubbing agents, including grainy cleansers. Steer clear of
these products if you have sensitive skin and instead, opt for
gentler products and pay special attention to how you use them
as well. Always wipe, never scrub, the skin when cleansing and
apply products gently.
There are numerous cleansers on the market acceptable for
skin that's prone to acne, or skin that's easily irritated.
There are also products for acne sufferers that are gentle
enough for daily use and available directly
over-the-counter.
It is recommended to use products labeled as noncomedogenic
and oil-free as these will keep the pores open and
unclogged.
Today there are also cosmetics that are specially formulated
and designed for promoting healing as well as acne prevention.
Like some other types of cleaning products for the skin, many
are completely free from oil and some even include acne
medication as well.
Regardless of the actual type of cleanser you choose for
your skin, whether it's bar soap, or a specially formulated
product designed for dealing with acne, the important part lies
with how you actually use it. Read the directions on the label
and follow them carefully, taking care not to overuse and your
skin will soon be on its way to healing, and both looking and
feeling better.
If left untreated acne can be a serious problem.
Chris Gibson, who was once a chronic acne
sufferer, found a scientically proven way to permanently clear
his acne problem. In fact he cured his acne in 3
days without any harsh prescription drugs
or over-the-counter products. In this well researched book
Chris revealed the fast and easy
way to get rid of your pimples, zits,
whiteheads and blackheads.
